Wow Aki! I like an organized person-you Rock!

5- はくさい

Will you bring a small plate or bowl to put the つけもの on? One of my teachers Les Horvat, who used to shoot food and a lot of beer, suggested I only shoot food on a plate and nothing underneath the plate or shoot the food (raw ingredients) on fabric or paper. I think he thought do many layers would make the photo too busy. I think it is better to bring a mixture of fabrics for under the food, better to several choices.

Yes a processing detail shot would be great.

As for a background colour I want each shot to have a mood and a feeling. The はくさい for me has meaning of layers of growth in life, kind of like when you chop a tree down you can count the rings on the tree to see how many years old it was. I was thinking a dark colour for the background of the はくさい say dark earth brown or tell me if you think this is silly むらさ (it could be an interesting contrast) or maybe too much. Just ideas, just bring what you are able to bring, I trust your food styling instincts. As for texture, a fabric or paper with not much texture as the はくさい has lots of texture and is is the hero of the shot and does not need other textures competing for attention.

6- くり

So please bring your basket for the くり あかずきん. Can you also bring some light green fabric with no texture, otherwise I can see if I can get some moss to put under and in between the くり and it's leaves.

As for the roasted chest nuts I like idea of using a orange, yellow fire ember colour, as a background to go around the textured paper bag. Just an idea, from memories of roasting chestnuts in the fire. This is supposed to be more Japanese than western, so I would appreciate your input.

I will bring gloves.

OK cool.
